Below is the full interview published in El Economista, to whom we would like to express our gratitude for their attention and collaboration in helping to share our work.

What are the origins of BAMER Spain?

BAMER Spain began its journey in 2012. At a time when Spain’s economic situation was far from ideal—during the much-talked-about financial crisis—my entrepreneurial drive and experience in the sector led me to found the company. It was a tough beginning: just a mobile phone in a hotel lobby, where I held my first meetings for office projects—when I didn’t even have an office of my own! It was a start I will never forget.

Today, we have a factory in Aveiro (Portugal) and a commercial and installation branch in Spain. The production plant employs a team of 85 people, while the Madrid headquarters has 30 professionals, including project managers (architects and engineers), the technical office (architectural technologists and architects), and the administrative and financial departments, along with our installation teams.

What type of clients do you work with?

Mainly design & build firms, architects, interior designers, and major corporate clients. They are the ones who design the workspaces that we later bring to life through the manufacture of partitions, carpentry, upholstered panels, and more—a true eruption of design.
In recent years, we’ve moved away from the traditional 1960s-style partitioned office to create new workspace concepts that prioritize employee well-being and make their working day as pleasant as possible.
To achieve this, we work hand in hand with design & build companies such as Savills Aguirre Newman, CBRE, JLL Tetris, Cushman & Wakefield, 3G Office, ISG, UNEN, ERCER, CONSTRUCIA, among others. We also collaborate with renowned architects such as Rafael de la Hoz, Carlos Lamela, Julio Touza, BICG, and Estudio Monochrome.

How would you define the company’s work philosophy?

I believe what best defines us is our ability to adapt to our clients’ needs. We always say that we don’t sell partitions—we sell projects. That’s something professionals value deeply and often reward with their loyalty. Most of our clients have been working with us since the very beginning.

Is it possible to innovate in a sector like this?

Absolutely. Especially in today’s globalized world, where sustainability is increasingly important. We innovate by using materials that help us move toward carbon neutrality in our processes.
We comply with all FSC certification standards, ensuring that our products are made using raw materials from certified suppliers and through a properly controlled process of storage, transformation, and delivery.
In addition, we manage the company’s energy use under ISO 50001 certification and hold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accreditation.

In which markets are you present?

In addition to Spain and Portugal, we have carried out projects in France, Ireland, Romania, Israel, Dubai, Morocco, Angola, and Mozambique—generally alongside clients with projects in those countries.

Do you always manufacture in-house?

Yes. Our factory in Aveiro (Portugal) spans 10,000 m², where we design and produce our own partition systems. From the very beginning of the production chain, we pay close attention to the finishes and details to create tailor-made solutions that meet each client’s needs and always with the highest quality.
Over the years, our production unit has gained strong technical and practical expertise, establishing us as a benchmark in the sector.

And do you also handle your own installations?

Yes, we have our own installation teams. Our systems are installed by our own professionals, allowing us to guarantee a flawless result.
Our technical office not only designs each project but also ensures that installation processes are carried out under the highest quality standards. In this way, at BMR we control the entire lifecycle of the product—from the selection of raw materials to the final installation, including manufacturing, assembly, and supply.

Could you name some of the projects you’ve worked on?

Over the years, we have completed numerous projects. BMR is a company specialized in the design, manufacture, and installation of office partitions and bespoke carpentry.
To better understand its work philosophy, we spoke with its founder, Raúl de Miguel, who says: “We don’t manufacture partitions; we create tailor-made projects.”
Our notable projects include the Amazon offices in Madrid and Barcelona, the headquarters of Coca-Cola and Vodafone in Madrid, the new Uría headquarters (also in Madrid), the Real Madrid Presidency offices in Valdebebas, as well as projects for E&Y, BNP Paribas, Zurich, Oracle, E-Bay, Microsoft, and many other major corporations and multinationals that have established themselves in Spain in recent years.
In all of these, we were responsible for the manufacturing and installation of partition and enclosure systems, while also advising our clients on the best possible solutions.

What are the company’s future plans?

Our immediate future follows two paths:

First, investment in R&D&I—incorporating machinery that shortens manufacturing processes and better adapts to ad hoc work, while also integrating production processes currently outsourced.
Secondly, international growth alongside our clients. We will take another step in the company’s internationalization by entering new markets and opening our own offices in Paris, London, and Milan.
